Freezers (2019)  - Digital Skin, IMMA

Vr Piece
Freezers deals with commemoration, What it means for a once living thing to live on in another form or likeness. These likenesses can exist as alternate consciousnesses but also in simpler forms such as images, actions, memories, data or visual representations. This piece explores these concepts through the virtual representation and reanimation of a fish that was once alive, and is now contained within a digital space. Digital spaces act as a kind of purgatory for data. Nothing decays or is lost while the space remains intact, but objects remains stuck in these spaces, forced into repetitive action and disconnected from what they once represented.
